Dory Black

Ms. Black, J.D. is the General Counsel for all Angel Oak Companies. Ms. Black is responsible for all legal and compliance affairs at the firm.

Previously, she spent over 10 years at GE Asset Management as the Vice President and Associate General Counsel. Ms. Black began her career working at Dewey Ballantine LLP, where she represented private equity investors and pension funds making equity investments in various operating companies. She has extensive experience in a variety of areas relating to the investment management business; including drafting and negotiating investment management agreements, forming US and offshore investment funds, and advising on regulatory issues in the US and in foreign jurisdictions.

Ms. Black earned a J.D., with Honors, from Emory University School of Law and graduated Cum Laude with High Honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Brandeis University.
